Illnesses have been reported in 21 states: AL, CT, DE, IA, IL, KY, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, NE, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, UT, VT, WA, and WI. Because this product was distributed nationwide through major online retailers, more cases may be identified as the investigation continues.
Salmonella infections can be particularly dangerous when linked to dietary supplements, as these products are often consumed by health-conscious individuals who may not suspect their “superfoods” are contaminated. Symptoms include:
Severe diarrhea (sometimes bloody)
Fever and chills
Abdominal cramps and vomiting
While most recover within a week, the high hospitalization rate in this outbreak (over 25%) indicates a serious health risk, especially for young children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems.
If you or a family member consumed Live it Up Super Greens and subsequently suffered from a Salmonella infection, you may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
